The writers on set of Almost Popular!
Pamela Duffy-Little has been a writer for 25 years, starting her own marketing agency and selling it last year. She is also the mother of three children, including one teenage daughter who unintentionally inspired Nice Girls, Not (the original name for Almost Popular). Over Covid, Pam watched her daughter and her friends interact — interactions that would normally happen at school. She was able to see firsthand the trials and tribulations of high school teenagers, the angst and the humor, to tell the story of two kids battling for popularity among their peers . Pam also co-created and executive produced the streaming talk show, Girl Talk. Pam has nearly 10 other TV and feature film projects in various stages of development and founded Kalusa Entertainment.
Eleni Rivera is a Puerto Rican writer and director. Being mentored by talented creators, including Maggie Kiley (Dirty John) and Michael Dowse (Stuber), she continued her craft as a writer and director resulting in her award-winning short film, The Gazer. The short film found distribution through Gunpowder and Sky’s streaming platform, DUST. Additionally, her pilot Bosque was recognized in the 2021 The Bloodlist. At the top of 2023, she was accepted into Ryan Murphy’s Half Initiative Director’s program. She most recently landed a narrative designer position at Blizzard Entertainment working on the horror RPG, Diablo IV. She’s passionate about elevating narrative stories that resonate with a wide audience, while grounding them with heart.
