As CEO of production company Patriot Pictures LLC, Mr. Michael Mendelsohn and the Patriot team have released successful films including GOD IS A BULLET (2023) by Nick Cassavetes and starring Jamie Foxx, Maika Monroe and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, BLACKOUT (2022) starring Josh Duhamel and was on Netflix’s Top 10 Worldwide Most Watched List for three weeks, PRISONERS OF THE GHOSTLAND (2021) starring Nicolas Cage, SYNCHRONIC (2020) starring Anthony Mackie and Jamie Dornan and premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival, CUT THROAT CITY (2020) directed by Wu Tang Clan’s RZA and starring Terrence Howard, Westley Snipes, Kat Graham, and Ethan Hawke to premiere at South by Southwest, RUNNING WITH THE DEVIL (2019) by Navy SEAL Jason Cabell and starring Nicolas Cage and Laurence Fishburne, ZEROVILLE (2019) starring James Franco, Megan Fox, Seth Rogan, Will Ferrell, Joey King, Jacki Weaver, Craig Robinson, Danny McBride, I AM MICHAEL (2015) starring James Franco, Zachary Quinto, Emma Roberts and Executive Produced by Gus Van Sant, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, HANGMAN (2017) starring Al Pacino and Brittany Snow, and I AM WRATH (2016) starring John Travolta.

During his career, Mr. Mendelsohn has structured and placed over $1.8 billion in senior debt for such banks as, BNP Paribas (media and entertainment) [10 Years], Union Bank of California (entertainment) [5 Years] and JP Morgan and Comerica (sports), and arranged production financing or foreign distribution and co-production deals for such entertainment companies Lakeshore Entertainment (Paramount), Beacon Communications (Universal Pictures), Icon Productions (Paramount), and Franchise Pictures (Warner Bros.). Mr. Mendelsohn has arranged production financing for over 258 films, such as “Lord of War” released by Lions Gate Films, written and directed by Andrew Niccol and starring Nicolas Cage and Ethan Hawke and “Material Girls” released by MGM, starring Hilary and Haylie Duff and Anjelica Huston, directed by Martha Coolidge, Beacon Pictures and Wolfgang Peterson’s “Air Force One” starring Harrison Ford, Lakeshore Entertainment produced “The Mothman Prophecies” starring Richard Gere, Wachowski Sisters’ “The Matrix”; Icon Pictures produced “What Women Want” starring Mel Gibson and Helen Hunt, “The Gift” starring Cate Blanchett and Keanu Reeves, “Arlington Road” starring Tim Robbins and Jeff Bridges, Samuel Goldwyn Jr.’s “Madness of King George” (4 Academy Award Nominations), and Quentin Tarantino’s “Reservoir Dogs”.

A graduate of The University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School, Michael studied Economics with a major in Finance and Entrepreneurial Management and a minor in English and Russian Literature. He often lectures at his alma mater, as well as AFI, Harvard, NYU, UCLA and USC.
